ASKA is a co-operative Viking survival and settlement-building game developed by Sand Sailor Studio and published by Thunderful Publishing. Set in a procedurally generated Norse world ruled by harsh seasons and ancient terrors, it challenges you to forge a thriving colony from nothing. What sets ASKA apart is its intelligent NPC villager system: you recruit survivors, assign them roles, and watch your settlement grow from a rough woodland camp into a fortified stronghold — solo or in co-op for up to four players.

Ways to Play

ASKA supports flexible playstyles for lone chieftains and full tribes alike:

Solo Survival: Build and manage your entire settlement yourself, directing villagers, gathering resources, and surviving the seasons at your own pace.

Co-op Survival: Team up with up to three friends, split responsibilities across construction, exploration, hunting, and defense, and grow your village together.

Custom Mode: Unlock granular settings for invasion difficulty, creature populations, day and year length, structure decay, and more, so each world plays exactly how your group wants.

Multiplayer: ASKA supports dedicated servers, so your tribe can log in at any time without waiting for a host. ASKA Server Hosting takes this further by providing a persistent, customizable world for sustained communal play.

Unique Features of ASKA

Unlike traditional survival games, ASKA blends survival with colony management:

Intelligent Villagers: Recruit NPCs with unique traits and needs, assign them jobs, and let them gather, craft, and defend autonomously while you focus on strategy.

Seasonal Survival: Face a dynamic weather system where brutal winters affect warmth and survival priorities shift with every season.

Mythical Combat: Fight legendary creatures and fend off invasions in skill-based combat as you defend your growing settlement.

Deep Customization: Personalize buildings with functional furniture, dyes, and decorative items, and shape your world seed, terrain, and starting season.

Community and Development

ASKA has built a dedicated community drawn to its Norse setting and unique villager-driven gameplay. In active Early Access, it receives regular content updates from Sand Sailor Studio, and server owners already enjoy granular control over world generation, raid difficulty, and NPC behavior. With mostly positive reviews and a steady stream of updates, it has become a standout in the co-op survival space.

With intelligent villagers, deep seasonal survival, and full server control, ASKA Server Hosting cements the game’s place as a rich co-op experience, inspiring teamwork and creativity across the globe.

ASKA Multiplayer Server

Unleash your tribe’s ambition on our premier ASKA Multiplayer Server. We deliver a steadfast, low-latency environment, perfect for building settlements, commanding villagers, and surviving the seasons together in a procedurally generated Norse world. Connect with a dedicated community, collaborate on ambitious longhouse villages, or fend off invasions side by side. With continuous uptime and robust protection, your Viking colony is always secure.

Full Server Control

A big part of ASKA’s appeal is how much control hosts have over the world. Even without official mod support, server owners can fine-tune invasion difficulty, creature populations, day and year length, structure decay, terrain, and starting season through custom mode — giving every crew a genuinely different experience. Unofficial community mods are also available via Nexus Mods, and official mod support may arrive as the game leaves Early Access. Combined with persistent worlds and full file access, hosts can tailor every rule to match how their tribe wants to play.

Faq - your questions? We got answers!

What are the system requirements for hosting an ASKA Server?

To host an ASKA server, we recommend at least 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, and around 8 GB of free storage. ASKA is largely CPU-bound because of NPC pathfinding and AI, so additional CPU is advised for larger villages and busier worlds. A stable internet connection is recommended for smooth gameplay.

How many players can join my ASKA Server?

By default, ASKA supports co-op for up to 4 players. This is a game-level limit set by the developers. Depending on your hosting plan you can still adjust resources, and you can upgrade or scale down based on your needs.

Can I install mods or customize settings on my ASKA Server?

Yes, ASKA server hosting allows extensive customization. Through custom mode you can adjust difficulty, invasions, creature populations, day and year length, structure decay, world seed, and more. Official mod support isn’t available yet during Early Access, but unofficial community mods exist on Nexus Mods.

How do I set up my ASKA Server?

After purchasing your server, you’ll receive login credentials for the control panel. ASKA dedicated servers require a free Steam Game Server Login Token (GSLT), and we provide easy instructions in the panel. From there you can configure your world, server name, difficulty, and player slots, then start your server.

Can I change my server plan later?

Yes, most hosting providers allow you to change your server plan at any time. You can adjust resources (RAM, CPU) and storage based on your needs.

Can I back up my ASKA Server data?

Yes, you can back up your ASKA server data. Many providers offer automatic backups, or you can create manual backups of your world and villager data to protect your progress.

What happens if my ASKA Server crashes or goes down?

In case of server crashes or downtime, most providers offer 24/7 customer support. They will help restore your server and resolve any issues. Some providers also offer uptime guarantees.

Do I need to keep my computer on to run my ASKA Server?

No, with a rented ASKA server, your world runs 24/7 on the provider’s hardware, so you don’t need to keep your own computer on. Your settlement stays online and your villagers keep working even when you’re away.
