According to the rules of the Finnish domain central registry, .FI domain names may only be registered to Finnish individuals and organizations under the following conditions:
For individuals, if:
- the person is at least 15 years old;
- the person has a Finnish personal identity code and permanent residence in Finland
For organizations, if it is a:
- company or private entrepreneur;
- public authority or state-owned company;
- independent public sector enterprise, association, or non-profit organization;
- foreign diplomatic representation or any organization registered in the Finnish Trade Register or in the Foundations and Associations Register.
NB! To register a .FI domain, the applicant must be previously listed in the relevant registers.
Registering as a Finnish VAT payer alone does not grant the right to register a .FI domain!
The requested Finnish domain name must not:
- misuse protected names or trademarks;
- be offensive, defamatory, or used for criminal purposes;
- be a combination of another person’s first and last name.
